Photos On Amazon Fire Stick

Amazon Firestick is a multi-purpose device that allows you to stream any media on your TV and even browse the internet. Whatever files you have stored on the Amazon Firestick, you can actually view them on your desktop computer or laptop. Given the fact that Firestick devices weren’t designed with PC connectivity in mind, this process may be less straightforward than you’re used to. However, viewing, as well as transferring files from your Firestick to your PC, is very much possible now.

Since the picture resolution is so good I thought my photos will be best served with a 23” LCD screen which has full HD (1920x1080) resolution. This for sure looks better than displaying photos on a tablet with a much smaller screen. Step 1: Buy an Amazon Fire TV stick and connect it to the monitor via HDMI. So it’s Amazon prime day tomorrow and I am assuming the fire sticks are on sale, as per usual. Is the 2018 4K stick the best to go for still? Or is the new 2021 3rd gen stick the one to buy? I’ve always used a Chromecast, but after 5 years, mine is going to be laid to rest. Note that Fire OS 5 devices, like the 1st and 2nd-gen Fire TV Stick, do not prompt for permission, so their apps do not need to be reset this way. Clearing the apps data will make all permission prompts reappear when you launch the app again. Note that it does reset the app to its newly installed state, so any settings or modifications made in. Is there any way to get Google photos app working on fire tv stick 4k? I tried with Kodi google drive addon and it shows the photos alright but cant see any videos:/. I also tried casting from google photos app but the output is awful and basically useless.

Connecting Your PC to the Firestick

Amazon Firestick was intended to work with television devices. You simply plug it into your TV and let it work its magic. However, you can both stream content on the Firestick and view and transfer it to your PC. The former is done by screen mirroring. Use your Firestick remote to navigate to Home and then select Mirroring. The Amazon device will then enter standby mode, whilst you to connect your PC to the TV.

On Windows 10, navigate to the Notification icon in the lower right corner of the screen and connect it to your Firestick (it will likely be named after your Amazon Prime account). The screen will initially be duplicated, but you can change the projection mode from the settings menu on your PC.

Viewing and Transferring Files to Your PC

After connecting your PC to your Amazon Firestick, you’ll be able to play, browse, and stream everything from your PC on your TV screen. However, this is merely the Firestick’s option that allows you to display one screen on the other. If you want to view and transfer the files from your Amazon device to your computer, you’re going to have to take a completely different approach.

Go to the home screen on the Firestick menu. From there, navigate to Apps and search for an app called ES File Explorer. Alternatively, you can type in the app’s name into the search bar. If ES File Explorer isn’t installed on your computer, use the Downloader app (using the aforementioned principle to find it) and download it.

Now, launch this app, navigate to Home and then select View on PC. From here, you can activate the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) service by selecting Turn On. This will display an FTP address. Now, copy this address (you can simply write it down) and paste it into your preferred browser. This will display the list of files that are on your Amazon Firestick and will allow you to download these files to your PC.

Bear in mind that you’ll need an active internet connection on both devices for the duration of the entire process if you want it to work.

Transferring Files to the Firestick

In order to transfer your desired files from your computer to the Firestick, first, you’ll need to install the ES File Explorer, as explained above. Now, start the Remote Manager in the ES File Explorer app. To do this, select Network from the main menu and then navigate to Remote Manager inside the Network menu. Press the Turn On button to activate the FTP service. After taking note of the mentioned FTP address, insert it into the browser on your PC.

Now, open the FTP Client app (you need to download it to your PC first), enter your Firestick’s IP address, and select Connect. Now, just add rooms to your Firestick and every other file that you want to transfer to the device in question.

Transferring Firestick Files to Your PC

This process may not be straightforward and may involve a little bit of hassle, but if you really need your files transferred from one device to the other, there’s no way of getting around it. Firesticks weren’t designed with data transfer capabilities in mind. The fact they still come with this option is a bonus, as most of similar devices don’t include it.

Have you ever tried to transfer certain files from one of these devices to the other? How did it go? Was the process too confusing? Feel free to discuss this in the comments section below.

The Amazon Fire Tablet is an elegant device, but its storage space is not very impressive. That’s why you need to know how to manage your storage space, delete all the unnecessary stuff, and make a cloud backup.

Read on to find out how to delete all photos, videos, apps, etc. from your Fire Tablet. Doing so will save you a lot of space and make the Fire Tablet much faster. Sure, you can use an SD card to get more storage, but that still might not be enough.

Delete All Photos from the Fire Tablet

Without any ado, here is how to delete all your photos from the Fire Tablet device:

  1. Tap on the Apps menu on your Fire Tablet tablet.
  2. After that, select Local.
  3. Finally, tap on the Gallery.
  4. Manually go through your photos, select each one, and hold your finger until a window pops up. Select Delete and repeat the process as many times as you like.

You can use this technique to delete your videos as well. Alternatively, you can remove your Fire Tablet photos directly from the carousel. Just tap and hold any item that you want to delete (photo, video, app) and press Remove from Device.

Note that deleting your photos, videos, or apps is permanent. You won’t be able to retrieve the deleted data, so be careful with what you delete. Perhaps it is smarter to save the important data on your computer or the Amazon Drive.

Use Amazon Drive for Backup

How to delete photos on amazon fire stick

The best way to backup your Fire Tablet photos and videos is via the Amazon Drive. Visit the Amazon Drive web page and sign in with your Amazon credentials.

You can get Amazon Drive on your desktop or mobile device. Amazon Prime membership will grant you specific bonuses for using the Drive. For example, your photos won’t count, which is perfect if you have a vast photo library.

Regular Prime membership will get you 5 GB of video storage, but you can get even more room with the 100 GB or 1 TB Amazon Drive subscription plans. These are all great options if you have too many photos and videos on your Amazon Fire Tablet or other devices.

Other Means of Saving Storage Space

You don’t have to use Amazon Drive for backup. If you have spare space on your laptop or desktop, you can use these devices instead. Just connect your Fire Tablet using a USB cable and transfer photos and videos to your computer.

You can free up your library, so you don’t have to buy an expensive SD card. Still, SD cards are handy, and you should get one if you need more storage room on your Fire Tablet.

You can also use the Archive option if you want to get some storage space, but don’t want to delete your files from the Fire Tablet. Here is how to archive stuff on Fire Tablet:

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap on Storage.
  3. Tap the Archive Now option.
  4. Select the content that you want to archive.

Note that various apps clutter the storage space even more than photos. Look at your Fire Tablet apps and delete the ones you are not using frequently. That will save you at least a gigabyte or two of storage.

Clear Unused Apps

Follow the steps to find and delete the apps you are not using on the Fire Tablet:

  1. Launch Settings on your Fire Tablet.
  2. Select the Apps and Notifications option.
  3. Then, choose the Manage All Apps option.
  4. Tap the Menu option in the upper-right corner of your screen.
  5. Select Show System Apps.
  6. Examine the apps one by one. Select those that take up too much space and tap Uninstall.

We don’t recommend using any third-party cleaner apps for decluttering your Fire Tablet. Ironically, these apps also create unnecessary clutter and hamper your device’s performance. Although the task is tedious, you should do these occasional cleanups yourself.

Factory Reset

If you don’t want to delete everything individually, you can always reset your Fire Tablet to factory settings. Here is how:

  1. After you’ve backed up the photos and videos that you want to save, launch Settings.
  2. Then, select Device Options.
  3. Choose Reset to Factory Defaults.
  4. Press Reset to start the process.

The factory reset will wipe all the photos, videos, and apps from your device. You will also have to sign in with your Amazon account once again and set up the network connection for your tablet.

Declutter Successful

Your decluttered Fire Tablet should run much smoother now, and be more responsive overall. We highly suggest backing up essential data before deleting files or performing a factory reset. We also recommend getting a beefy SD card.
